Welcome!

Imagine moving from South Dakota to New York City and discovering that your daughter cannot legally attend high school.
Similarly, rural-to-urban migrant students in Beijing are unable to legally test into quality high schools when they graduate from middle school. Some directly enter the labor market, but quickly lose confidence in their limited abilities. They come to resent their poor salaries, lack of job mobility, and restricted knowledge and access to future opportunities.
ValuEd China is dedicated to pursuing a world where migrant youth can pursue their highest potential, unhindered by poverty or residency permits.
ValuEd will develop and pilot educational programs to meet the unique needs of migrant students; we will distribute results to other practitioners and researchers in the field to build capacity and increase effectiveness.
